The UN Security Council called on all parties in Libya to cease fire and resort to international mediation.

The UNSC condemned in a statement Friday the air raid on the immigrants' shelter in Tajoura suburb of Tripoli, calling on the member states to respect the arms embargo imposed on Libya.

The statement released by the French Press Agency comes just two days after Washington prevented the Security Council from issuing a unanimous statement demanding the condemnation of the attack on the shelter for no apparent reason.
