The UN Secretary-General, António Guterres called for an independent investigation into the circumstances of the aerial bombardment that targeted a migrants' shelter in Tajoura.

According to Stéphane Dujarric, spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Guterres condemned the horrific incident in the strongest terms, indicating that the United Nations has provided accurate coordinates of the detention centres location to both parties to the conflict.

Guterres reminded all parties of their obligations under international humanitarian law, which necessitate taking the necessary precautions to avoid causing civilian casualties, and the destruction of civilian facilities, as well as refraining from targeting civilians.
