The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Amina Mohamed, confirmed that the UN is prepared to work with the African Union (AU) and various subregional organizations to support the official Libyan authorities and the ongoing political process towards success.

In her statements during a high-level meeting on coordination between the UN and the AU, Amina Mohamed added that they are also prepared to address the return of mercenaries and foreign fighters to their relevant countries of origin.

She further indicated that the UN is working closely with the AU, the League of Arab States and the EU to support the ceasefire agreement in Libya and prepare for the upcoming elections scheduled for December.
