The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Libya, Yacoub El Hillo has condemned the targeting of civilians, warning that continuing with such actions would have grave consequences.

"The parties to the conflict must respect international humanitarian law and human rights law," the UN official stated.

He expressed concern over the frequent reports regarding the killing of 4 civilians and the injury of more than 12 others as a result of the aerial bombardment on "Khallat Fares" district in Tajoura suburb east of Tripoli, underscoring that civilians and civilian facilities must be spared the consequences of the military operations.
