UN Humanitarian Coordinator, Maria Ribeiro, has condemned the cutting of water supplies to more than 2 million residents of Tripoli.

Ribeiro reminded all parties of their obligations under international humanitarian and human rights law.

"Such attacks on civilian infrastructure essential for civilians' lives could amount to war crimes," Ribeiro warned.

Water supplies to Tripoli were restored on Tuesday, two days after they were cut off by gunmen loyal to warlord Khalifa Haftar
