The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Libya, Yacoub El Hillo has discussed with Justice Minister, Mohamed Lamloum joint efforts to enhance the capacity of the judicial police and improve prison conditions.

The two sides discussed during the meeting held in Tripoli on Thursday, the United Nations support for legislative reforms, combating human trafficking, and capacity-building to provide judicial services to survivors of social-based violence.

In turn, Lamloum insisted that guaranteeing human rights and international standards for the treatment of prisoners is a priority for his ministry, expressing keenness to improve conditions of inmates in all penitentiary institutions under the ministry's authority.
