The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the United Nations (UN) Envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis is due to visit Moscow in early June, with talks scheduled with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov.

In a short statement, the ministry stated that the Russian President’s Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov spoke to Kubis by phone on a number of issues related to continuing to push the political process in Libya.

This is hoped to be achieved in accordance with the provisions of the roadmap adopted by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) and the outcomes of the Berlin Conference and the International Security Council Resolution 2510.
