UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame flew to eastern Libya on Saturday to meet warlord Khalifa Haftar who has been attacking Tripoli since April 04.
According to the UNSMIL, both sides discussed the latest developments in Libya and ways to return to a state of peace and dialogue.
“Salame warned against the consequences of the escalation of fighting and the increasing foreign interference,” a brief statement by the UNSMIL added.
