The head of the UN mission in Libya, Ghassan Salame, has called for an amendment to the Municipalities Law in Libya and the increase in its budgets, stressing that he is ready to stand for their rights.

Salame clarified, during his meeting with the committee of the Libyan Municipalities Forum, that the United Nations will continue to support the electoral process in the municipalities, and that it will work on all elements of the UN action plan together so as the failure to apply any element would not impede the work of another, according to the mission's account on Twitter Sunday.

The committee emanating from the Forum of Libyan Municipalities is tasked with following up the dialogue between the House of Representatives and the High Council of State to brief them on the latest developments in the process of amending the political agreement.
