UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcomed the meeting held by his Special Representative to Libya, Ghassan Salame, between the Presidential Council's head, Fayez Al-Sarraj, and leader of Dignity Operation, Khalifa Hafter.
In a statement on the mission's website, Guterres commended the progress that had been achieved and the parties' efforts to end the transitional stages in Libya through holding general elections, as well as their commitment to maintaining stability in the country and to unify state institutions.
He also expressed his hope for further progress on the basis of what was agreed on in the meeting, with the support of the international community.
