The US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, and his British counterpart, Caroline Hurndall, met on Tuesday with the leaders of 19 Libyan political parties during consultations that took place in Tunisia, hosted by the National Democratic Institute (NDI).

“UK Ambassador Caroline Hurndall and I both witnessed their contagious enthusiasm. I admire their determination to help Libya restore momentum towards elections. The U.S. stands with them in this effort”, Norland tweeted.

The Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Libya, Stephanie Williams, briefed representatives of a number of Libyan political parties on their efforts to bring together the House of Representatives and the High Council of State to agree on a constitutional basis for fair and inclusive elections.
