The United Kingdom's (UK) embassy in Libya said Tuesday on Twitter that it supports Free Fields and HALO organizations in clearing contaminated areas from explosive remnants of war in Sirte, Benghazi and Tripoli.

The UK embassy added that these efforts help reduce the impact of conflict on the lives of Libyans.

On Friday, the UN Humanitarian Affairs Coordination Office warned of the continued threat of unexploded mines to the lives of Libyans blocking the return of IDPs to their houses, saying that 298 people died because of war remnants.
