The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) said it had connected Ubari substation with the electrical grid as part of its plans to take advantage of the full energy produced from the substation.

The company added that all of the four turbines of the Ubari power plant would be linked to the electrical grid soon with a capacity of 640 megawatts.

The GECOL noted that the new 220kV substation is an outstanding addition to the network and the southern region in general and is a state-of-the-art step in completing the Ubari power plant with all of its facilities.
