A source from eastern Libya has confirmed the arrival of a private plane from the UAE to Al-Abraq Airport on Friday afternoon.
On board the plane was the speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqailah Saleh after a two-day secret visit to the UAE.
Radio France Internationale quoted its own sources as saying that the UAE wants to increase its influence in Libya. It reported on Friday that Libyan parties have begun secret meetings to choose Khalifa Haftar`s successor, referring to the travel of Aqailah Saleh to Abu Dhabi last Wednesday to meet with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Zayed, despite eastern authorities denying the visit at first then announcing it later.
