Turkish Parliament Speaker, Mustafa Sentop said that Turkey supports the holding of elections on time in Libya, considering them extremely necessary, expressing his hope for the election of a government capable of unifying the entire country.

Sentop added, in a press conference in Rome on the side-lines of the 7th Summit of the heads of parliaments of the group of 20 countries, that some countries appear to have cooperated with what he called some illegal forces within Libya, due to short-term interests and it turns out that this was a major mistake in principle according to a report by the Turkish Hurriyet newspaper.

He further indicated that his country abides by all international law and the United Nations resolutions, explaining that Turkey’s presence in Libya is by observing international law and abiding by previous bilateral agreements.
