The Turkish National Security Council (NSC) reconfirmed, in a statement on Wednesday, that Ankara would continue to stand by the Libyan people against any form of aggression, reiterating its determination to protect Turkish interests and rights as outlined by international law in the eastern Mediterranean.

The Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday, regarding Egypt’s threat to intervene militarily in Libya, “We are following closely recent developments in Libya”, adding, “nobody should get carried away with these ideas, as Turkey will not offer aggressors any opportunity to succeed.”
