The Turkish Ministry of Defence has said it handed over 30 illegal immigrants to the Libyan Coast Guard, on Tuesday.

The Turkish frigate "Gaziantep" had picked up the migrants from a rubber boat and provided them with medical assistance before handing them over to the Libyan Coast Guard, the ministry stated.

The operation was carried out by the Turkish Naval Task Force in the Mediterranean, which supports the NATO Naval Guard Operation, according to the ministry.
