The Turkish National Security Council has stressed the need to preserve the stability that has been achieved in Libya, protect the country's territorial integrity, and avoid any steps that might lead to new conflicts.

This came in a statement issued by the Council, Thursday, after its meeting chaired by the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Presidential Complex in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

The Council also stressed the importance of holding free, fair and credible elections in all parts of Libya, on the basis of national consensus in line with the aspirations of all Libyans, as according to the Turkish Anadolu News Agency.
