The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that its forces will begin clearing mines and explosive devices laid by Haftar’s militias in areas of south Tripoli, which were liberated by the Libyan Army Forces.

The Ministry said in a statement that the Turkish armed forces were providing training and advisory support to the Libyan Army in the region, at the invitation of the Government of National Accord (GNA).

It also indicated that the operation aims to pave the way to a safe return of civilians to their homes, after mine experts and teams begin removing explosive devices planted by the fleeing Haftar militias.
