The Turkish Embassy in Libya celebrated the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey on Thursday.

Turkish Ambassador to Libya Kenan Yilmaz welcomed the guests that included an array of Libyan political and military figures, among them were Chief of General Staff Muhammad Al-Haddad and Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Siddiq Al-Kabeer.

In a speech on the occasion ambassador, Yilmaz said, "We are continuing our efforts for Turkey's development and achieving its goals with a force that we derive from our solid history and authentic values, united with 84 million citizens."

On the Libyan elections, Yilmaz reiterated his country's support to hold elections as scheduled on December 24 and said they informed the "Libyan friends" that they are ready to provide all assistance in this regard.
