The Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said that his country fully supports the holding of the Libyan elections on their scheduled date, being December 24, and will continue to support the Libyan people and their legitimate government, whatever the outcome of the elections.

In statements to the Turkish Anadolu Agency, Kalin added that Ankara stressed the necessity for transparent explanations to the Libyan nation in the event of postponing the elections, announcing the need for a specific road map regarding the electoral race.

He explained that they believe that these steps are extremely relevant in terms of the legitimacy of the existing government and the consistency of the procedures that will be taken until the date of the elections.
