The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the vote of confidence for the Government of National Unity (GNU) that Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah presented to the House of Representatives (HoR) on March 10, 2021.

In a statement, the ministry expressed its hope that the GNU would take quick and concrete steps to ensure the implementation of the electoral process, unify institutions, and comprehensive national reconciliation, especially providing services to citizens.

It also said that it would be important to expand the powers of the GNU to include all regions of Libya, and called on all segments of Libya and the international community to support the new government in building a democratic and stable Libya.

“Turkey will continue to stand by the Libyan people, and will continue to provide support to Libya in a way that guarantees peace and prosperity throughout the country”, the Ministry added.
