Tunisian President, Kais Saied, has received, at Carthage Palace, representatives of what is called the "Supreme Council of Libyan Tribes and Cities", in order to conceive an initiative for the Libyan crisis.

A statement released by the Tunisian presidency said that President Said is acting upon a mandate given by the council of tribes.

"This mandate has been given to the Tunisian president by the council, after sensing his support to the Libyan people and his constant position in respect of all parties, hoping that he would help stop the bloodshed in Libya," the Tunisian Presidency explained.
