Tunisian Foreign Minister, Khemaies Jhinaoui called on all conflict parties in Libya to cease fire and to restore the situation to the political track, in order to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Libyan crisis, under the auspices of the United Nations.

This came during his meeting with the head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Ghassan Salame, during which he discussed the latest developments in Libya and ways to end the current military tension in the western region of Libya.

Jhinaoui confirmed that he made several contacts with various parties to the conflict in Libya, especially with Khalifa Haftar, as part of Tunisia's efforts to identify ways to reach a ceasefire and stop the bloodshed of Libyans.
