The Court of First Instance in Tunis has started investigations into the circumstances of the Tunisian authorities’ extradition of the prime minister in the former Gaddafi regime, or what was called “Secretary of the General People’s Committee”, Al-Baghdadi Al-Mahmoudi to the Libyan authorities.

The decision came following instructions of the Minister of Justice to the General Prosecutor of the Court of Appeal in Tunis, according to the Tunisian Mosaique FM.

The French magazine Jeune Afrique had confirmed more than a week ago that Mahmoudi, who lives in the UAE, was preparing to file a complaint against Tunisia after it extradited him to Libya in 2012, where he spent 8 years in prison before being released.
