Tunisian President, Kais Saied and German Chancellor, Angela Merkel have emphasized the need for a political solution to the Libyan crisis and the importance of engaging all countries concerned, including Tunisia, with an emphasis on upholding international legitimacy.

The two parties touched, during a phone call, on the peace initiative that took place in Tunisia by gathering a number of social councils to discuss means of reconciliation and to draft a constitution for the next stage in Libya.

They also agreed to pursue consultations on the Libyan crisis and the forthcoming Berlin conference path.
