The Foreign Ministers of Tunisia and Algeria confirmed their countries’ support for the new executive authority in Libya represented by the Government of National Unity and the Presidential Council (PC), in pushing forward for the holding of elections, scheduled for next December.

The Tunisian Foreign Minister, Othman Jerandi, along with his Algerian counterpart, Sabri Boukadoum, both stressed during their meeting in Tunisia the importance of the success of the political process in Libya, in a manner which preserves its unity.

According to the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both parties discussed several regional and international issues of common interest during the meeting, adding that the Libyan issue was the leading topic of the discussion.
