The youth and civil society movement of Tuareg in Sabha held a protest on Saturday demanding their electoral rights and participation in the upcoming elections.

The protesters explained via a statement that they were unable to register on the electoral roll for not owning a national ID number.

They explained that they have administrative numbers that do not entitle them to register in the voter register, which they deemed as a gross violation of their political rights.

The protesters called on all Libyan authorities, executive and legislative, to rapidly complete their identification procedures so they can exercise their political rights.
