The Presidential Council of the UN proposed government announced the formation of a committee to address the crises experienced by the city of Tripoli in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the committee is to work in coordination with all public bodies and relevant executive bodies in order to develop solutions and remedies for the crises experienced by the capital.

The Committee is obliged to submit monthly reports on the progress of its work to the Presidential Council in accordance with article 5 of the resolution. The committee is composed of the Mayor of Sooq al-Jumaa as the chairman of the committee, members of the municipalities of Ain Zara and Abu Salim, representatives from the Tripoli Municipal Council Nasser Kariwi, and the Tripoli authority represented by Rateb Mabrouk.

The third article of the resolution stipulates the right of the committee to seek assistance from those it deems necessary to carry out its duties whilst article four of the resolution specifies the duration of the committee's work at six months, which can later be extended by a decision made by the Presidential Council.
