The General Electric Company of Libya (GECOL) has confirmed Tuesday that a total blackout occurred in the southern region, as a result of an attack, which put the forth unit of Ubari Gas Station out of service.

The company explained that some outlaws from Brak Al-Shati area broke into the first unit of the Man-made River station and cut all feeding lines to the southern network, causing a major blackout in the entire area.

On Friday, the western and southern regions went into complete darkness, after angry citizens stormed the stations in rejection to the load shedding program developed by the GECOL, according to the company.
