The head of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Jens Stoltenberg, stated on Sunday that the alliance is ready to help Libya to rebuild their security institutions and aid in the elimination of the migration phenomenon, without using military intervention.

Stoltenberg stated in an interview with the Italian newspaper, La Repubblica, that NATO experts have been in contact with the Libyan authorities to figure out how to coordinate on the issues mentioned.

Stoltenberg added that NATO will help alleviate the migration problem, adding that NATO operations at sea have helped to suppress human trafficking.

NATO agreed, mid-last year, to provide technical assistance in the areas of security and defense, to the government of the Presidential Council.
