The Civil Defence in Tobruk city east of Libya issued on Monday an urgent appeal to help families stranded in their homes after several neighbourhoods have been reported flooded due to continuous rainfall.

According to the Information Office of the Civil Defence, the rain started to fall at dawn and continued until Monday afternoon, which caused many homes to inundate.

Teams of the Red Crescent Society and the Civil Defense are continuing work to evacuate and provide assistance to those stranded, according to the Information Office of the Civil Defence in Tobruk.
