The Times newspaper has reported that around 200 Russian mercenaries belonging to the company "Wagner" are fighting in the ranks of Haftar's forces, south of Tripoli.

The newspaper said in a report that the deployment of Russian mercenaries in Libya is part of Moscow's plan to expand its influence in North Africa and the Middle East, which was not faced by the West.

It added that Russian mercenaries were supported by drones, fighter jets and precision-guided artillery, which had contributed to inflaming the war in Libya.
