The General Electric Company of Libya (GECOL) announced the suspension of the third unit at the power plant "Ruwais" in western Libya, causing the loss of 140 megawatts of generation.

"Repair crew is currently conducting maintenance work in order to restore the unit's capacity to its normal level," The company clarified via Facebook, Saturday.

In a related context, the company announced the loss of 390 MW of generation in some other units, following a malfunction in one of the main gas compressors.

"Great efforts are being made to reboot, and return the unit's capacity to normal," GECOL stated.
