United Nations spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, stressed during a press conference held on Tuesday that setting the date of the elections is an intra-Libyan decision as soon as they can be implemented in a practical way, indicating that the Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Libya, Stephanie Williams continues her meetings with the Libyan actors.
In response to a question about the mercenaries’ exit, Dujarric said that international community has repeatedly called for the mercenaries and foreign forces to leave as soon as possible, stressing that there are no obstacles to their immediate departure.
The Security Council will discuss, at the end of January, the issue of the extension of the UN mission in Libya.
