The President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tabboune, and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed on Tuesday to intensify all efforts to reach a cease-fire in Libya.

According to a statement by the Algerian presidency, both agreed in a telephone conversation that this was a necessary step to pave the way towards facilitating a political solution in Libya.

The two presidents also pointed to the necessity to find a political solution based on respect for legitimacy, which in effect would guarantee the sovereignty and territorial integrity and unity of Libya.
