A student attending the Noor Al-Yaqin School located in the outskirts of Sirte has sustained injuries after a remnant of war from previous clashes exploded inside the school premises, a source from the city has confirmed.

The unexploded item blasted in the face of the student Abdul-Muhaimin Al-Fakhri, but luckily his injuries were minor, and reports say he is doing well.

In 2016, the city was a scene for fierce battles between the Libyan army force ( Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous) and the ISIS group, which ended with the liberation of the city.

The city was also the last stronghold for Gaddafi in the 2011 revolution that brought his 42-year rule to an end.
