The Municipal Council of Souq Al-Jum'aa has demanded the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) to not exceed a time limit of 4 hours a day of load shedding hours in all areas of the municipality.

In a letter addressed to the Minister of Local Government, the municipal council demanded the immediate dismissal of the entire board of directors of GECOL, and to give the opportunity to other competencies capable of creating and implementing solutions to the outages problem.

Souq Al-Jum'aa Municipality accused the management of the company of wasting public money, calling for an investigation on how the budget was spent during the current's board's mandate, after lack of tangible results for the billions spent to this sector to address the problem, according to the statement.
