Local media outlets attributed to sources from al-Jufra district that the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) had deployed its fighters in the town of Zella, northeast of Fezzan, with heavy weapons and opened fire in the air on the background of the killing of one of its members by unknown persons.

At least four citizens were injured during clashes between locals from the city and the SLM fighters, the same sources confirmed, adding that the SLM kidnapped a Libyan citizen after he had tried to aid a fighter of the opposition group before his death.

The sources reported that the people of the city have burned a car belonging to the SLM, adding that the SLM gunmen have set up checkpoints in and out of the city.
