The head of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), Counselor Mohammed Al-Hafi, has denied news circulated on social media regarding his agreement with the Head of the High Council of State, Khaled Al-Mishri to consider the presidential election law issued recently by the House of Representatives.

Al-Hafi confirmed that the request to appeal the work of the Constitutional Chamber submitted by several parties would be presented to the General Assembly of the Supreme Court next month, as it is the decision-maker.

Last Wednesday, the House of Representatives issued a presidential election law without a vote, according to several MPs.

The MPs said that the HOR Speaker acted contrary to the regulations and systems in place, holding him fully responsible for the implications of such a decision.
