Six entrepreneurs and small business owners based in Sabha have received grants of up to US$ 40,000 to help them develop their businesses, said the European Union Delegation to Libya on Monday.

The Eu delegation explained that the initiative, which is financed by the EU and carried out by the UNDP, is part of a “Re-Start-Up marathon” to rebuild and boost businesses that were affected by conflict or the economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in several cities throughout Libya.

The entrepreneurs are running businesses in the farming, clothes manufacturing, car repair, food, and beauty industries sectors.

The EU delegation indicated that the UNDP initiative will provide financial support, training, and mentoring, and thus help the entrepreneurs to boost their businesses and even create up to 45 new jobs in Sebha.
