The Aafiya Hospital, in Hun city, Jufra, has declared two cases of death over the past two days as a result of the closure of their maternity ward.
The ward closed down over two months ago because of a lack of specialists in the field to keep it running.
The director of Aafiya Hospital, Salem Fakrana, said in a press statement on Thursday, that five deaths occurred at the hospital during the period of closure of the birth section because of a lack of the necessary means to receive new cases and the absence of a specialist doctor in the area.
