The director of Sharara oil field, Hassan Al-Siddiq, confirmed the resumption of work in the field on Wednesday following its suspension on August 19.

In a press statement, Siddiq said that production is to resume after an agreement between the Oil Facilities Guard affiliated to the Presidential Council government and an armed group responsible for the shutdown of Rayayna pipeline, expecting the production to go back to its normal level within 3 days.

An armed group from Zintan town had closed the field demanding the release of a relative held by the Special Deterrence Force on criminal charges.
