The commander of so-called Protection and Intervention Force of the Central Support Agency in Benghazi, Colonel Emad Al-Din Bin Fayed, escaped an assassination attempt on Friday.

Local sources said that unknown assailants sprayed Ben Fayed with bullets outside his home in Al-Salam neighborhood and then escaped.

Sources loyal to Dignity Operation denied the assassination attempt, saying the incident was an armed robbery attempt on Bin Fayed’s car.
