A security unit affiliated with Tripoli’s Central Security Force has raided a warehouse used for illegally storing and selling fuel at its double price in the black market.

The action comes following the order of Brigadier General Muhammad Fathallah, head of the anti-fuel and gas smuggling committee, regarding strict crackdown on fuel smuggling dens in the region, the Interior Ministry said on Facebook.

The security force arrested several people in connection with the incident and found underground storage tanks containing about 60 thousand liters of fuel.

The Interior Ministry confirmed that it had taken all legal measures against the smugglers and referred them to the competent authorities to complete the remaining procedures.
