Ministry of Interior (MoI) has revealed that security support forces have apprehended a gang forging documents to seize state owned land, which value is estimated at 14 million Libyan dinars.

It explained that the seized land is 3 hectares in area, and part of Tripoli Airport Rd. Forest and that the gang comprises civilians, Ministry of Agriculture directors and clerks, retired directors, military people and armed group leaders.

MoI stated that the gang is well organized forging documents including contracts and seals with retroactive dates that date back to the 1990s, to seize state lands, develop them into small plots and sell them ostensibly showing title to such land.

The ministry said it had taken all necessary legal measures and referred the accused to the Public Prosecution, as the search is still underway to pursue the remaining members of the gang.
