The United Nations Security Council has slapped sanctions on the Head of Al-Nasser Detention Center in Al-Zawiya, Osama Al-Koni Ibrahim, for his direct and indirect participation in acts that violate international law for human rights, for human trafficking and for violence against immigrants in Libya.

The US mission to the Security Council applauded on Twitter the sanctions on the Libyan national, whom it described as a human trafficker who abused people and committed violence against vulnerable immigrants in Libya.

The US mission added that the Security Council sanctions on the Libyan human trafficker send a strong and unified message from the international community that warns of "no tolerance for such acts."
