The United Nations (UN) Security Council will convene on Monday, chaired by Deputy Secretary General, to review the UN recent report on Libya.

The Chairman of Security Council's Sanctions Commission on Libya will brief member states about the activities done by the commission as per Resolution 1970 after which a voting will take place for extending the mandate of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) that which ends January 31.

UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, urged in a report last Monday all Libyan parties to work together to hold fair and credible elections as soon as possible, stressing the need for the withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign forces from Libya.
