The Minister of Interior of the Interim Government in east Libya, Ibrahim Boshnaf, has sacked the director of the General Directorate of Counter-Terrorism, Colonel Adel Marfoa, following statements by Marfoa, in which he blamed the Interior Ministry for the deadly bombing in the city of Benghazi on Thursday.

Marfoa said in a television statement that the Minister of Interior was aware of the bombing of Benghazi in advance, stressing that he had officially informed the Ministry of Interior and various relevant authorities that there was an imminent terrorist explosion that will occur in the city during the time of Ramadan, adding that he had delivered an official report by hand to the Minister of Interior, Ibrahim Boshnaf that proves it.
