The Libyan Consulate in Sfax has announced that it would be starting medical testing for the Coronavirus on Monday, to initiate the second phase of quarantine procedures, in the case of stranded Libyan citizens.

In a statement issued on Saturday the consulate announced that Libyan citizens stranded in Sfax and other cities in southern Tunisia, wishing to return to their homeland, would have to strictly adhere to official isolation procedures and testing.

The plan is to take stringent measures, by testing each individual for the virus, followed by a period of isolation in a local hotel in Sfax.

In the event of a positive diagnosis of COVID-19, the infected individual would be transferred to a designated isolation unit, or hospital, depending on the level of infection.
